Ami Sangha is an artist living and working in Vancouver. Graduating in 2009 with a focus on printmaking and painting, Ami began working with clay by taking a beginner’s hand building class, just like you will be! Four years and a lot experimenting later, Ami now runs her own ceramics business, Ami like Miami!
In this class, we will learn how to make beautifully simplistic objects, like beads and spoons, and then move into larger pieces, like bowls and slab work. We will explore the unlimited protentional that hand building allows--and most importantly give you lots of time to play! Ami will introduce you to hand building tools and techniques, while supporting you individually to create. Each class we will learn a new technique so you can continue to experiment with what you learned from the class before! Questions and suggestions are also always welcome.
Ami Sangha gratefully acknowledges that she resides and practices ceramics on the traditional lands and the unceded territories of the Coast Salish people -- səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musquem) Nations.
